Peruvian Mules!

We were riding and showing mules prior to becoming Peruvian horse owners and breeders.  In fact, we initially started looking at Peruvian horses because we wanted to breed gaited mules.  As things happened, we decided at that time to stay within the Peruvian breed.  However, now things have come full circle.

At the Peruvian National Show in 2008, Jim had the opportunity to ride the National Laureado Mule, “Cadillac”.   This mule encompasses all the qualities we thought were possible in using Peruvian horses to produce mules including; hardiness, stamina, strength, longevity, and the brilliance and smooth gait of the Peruvian horse.

We purchased “Cadillac” and brought him to the U.S. to trail ride and to be the Ambassador for Peruvian mules in North America.  “Cadillac’s” exhibition at the NAPHA National Show in 2008 has generated a lot of interest and has rekindled our interest in this crossbreeding effort.

We have subsequently purchased a gaited Jack and have bred two Peruvian mares to him for 2009 foals.   We will have the foals for sale at weaning so contact us now if you have an interest in seeing these babies when they are born.  Historically, Peruvian mules are rarely available and they are highly sought after.  We will take reservations for these foals on a first-come, first served basis.

Peruvian Mules may be registered in the NAPHA Peruvian Part-bred Registry.

We are also standing our gaited Jack at stud to Peruvian mares.  Please contact us if you would like to arrange stud service.
