Both Jim and Alice are veterinarians who have practiced in the private sector as well as having been on the faculty of Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine.  Alice has been involved with horses all her life including hunter/jumpers, dressage, polo, sidesaddle, and western riding.  Jim became interested in Peruvian Horses 15 years ago and they have both been active in the breed since then.

Our decision to maintain a small herd of Peruvian horses of the highest quality has been the cornerstone of our breeding program.  We have always aimed to produce smooth, strong, versatile Peruvian horses that anyone would be proud to own.

JyW Coyote Creek Ranch is composed of 425 acres in Robertson County, Texas near the town of Hearne.  Only one-fourth of the ranch is improved with coastal Bermuda pastures.  The remaining acreage is dedicated to wildlife and native plant fauna, as the ranch is part of a “Managed Lands Program” for maintaining habitat for native Texas wildlife.  There are over 9 miles of trails with one year-round running creek and several seasonal creeks.  Among the wildlife species known to inhabit the ranch are white-tail deer, bobcats, coyotes, red and gray foxes, skunks, squirrels, and raccoons.  Many species of birds are residents and migrants.  Wildlife management also has enhanced plant species diversity and many wildflowers, including some rare species, can be seen on the ranch year round.
