2008 was a very successful show season for JyW Coyote Creek Ranch, culminating in one of our homebred mares being selected as the Reserve National Champion Breeding Mare!

 

While showing is not our primary focus, win or lose, we always enjoy the show experience as an opportunity to look at all the horses our friends have bred and to compare them in competition.  It is a great learning experience watching all the horses in the arena and judging their qualities and characteristics for yourself.  The best measure of your breeding program is how you feel about your own horses.

Multiple winner in Luxury Gelding and Gait in his first year of showing in bit in 2008.  Mars is our high stepping, powerful  boy.

MCD El Guapo

(aka Mr. Reliable)

MCD El Guapo has achieved his NAPHA Medallion de Oro lifetime achievement award (3000 lifetime show points) and was the Zone 3 Medallion winner (most show points in the zone) for 2007.

 

After many happy trails and happy years, Guapo is joining the equine family of Rhonda Pool and Doug Chilton of Crowley, Texas.  They are new to Peruvian horses and will be having fun on the trails as well as starting their show career with this proven Champion.

 

We wish Rhonda and Doug as much happiness and enjoyment as we have had with Guapo.  We know he will be as spoiled at your ranch as he was at ours.

Medallita is always in the ribbons and really strutted her stuff to win Champion Gait mare and Best Gaited Horse of Show at Camino Real in 2008.   Thanks, Pam Harris for riding her at this show!

*PK Chocolate

 

Imported from Peru in May 2008, Chocolate showed he has the right stuff… at his first U.S. Show.

MCD Penelope

 

Still going strong at 14 years of age!   MCD Penelope is a multiple Champion of Champions in both Breeding and Amateur Performance.

 

She is now retired from showing and having fun in the mountains of Colorado, in parades, and just horsing around at the ranch.

 

She is Dr. Jim’s pride and joy!
