JyW Coyote Creek Ranch is composed of 500 owned and 460 leased acres in Robertson county, Texas just off Hwy 6/190 and 17 miles north of Bryan/College Station (home of Texas A&M University) near the town of Hearne. Only one-fourth of the ranch is improved with coastal bermuda pastures. The remaining acreage is dedicated to wildlife and native plant fauna and is part of Texas Parks and Wildlife “Managed Lands Program”, designed for maintaining habitat for native Texas wildlife. There are over 20 miles of trails with two year-round running spring-fed creeks. Among the wildlife species known to inhabit the ranch are white-tailed deer, bobcats, coyotes, red and gray foxes, skunks, squirrels, mink, river otters, and raccoons. Many bird species inhabit the ranch, including pileated woodpeckers, painted buntings, vireos, warblers, as well as winter migrants. Plant diversity is prevalent with many species of wildflowers including rare species such as pine-woods lilies and spider lilies.
